My assemblage work is both simple and complex at the same time. It is born from simple material choices that evolve into complex narratives that reference history and time. I begin my process by sifting through piles of materials. This may include wood, metal, plastic, earth materials or found objects. During this time, I discover the inherent character and subtle nuances of each finding. As I bring parts and pieces together, they form connections. It is the dialogue of materials and how they occupy space that embodies the complexity within my work.
