The Vision
To celebrate the 55th anniversary of El Rio Health on Congress, the leadership team sought to give a meaningful gift to their staff, patients and the Tucson community. They commissioned me to create an angel—an emblem of healing, resilience and spirit—that would honor El Rio’s rich legacy and inspire future generations.
Working hand in hand with Brenda Goldsmith, Executive Director of El Rio Health Center Foundation and Dr. Clinton Kuntz CEO, we envisioned a monumental angel that would coincide with the 55th anniversary of El Rio on Congress. An angel would carry the universal meaning of protection and compassion while echoing El Rio’s mission of care. Shaped by my passion for placing art in healthcare settings, this concept resonated with me greatly.
